Our vacation planning app offers a comprehensive solution for organizing every aspect of your trip. Designed to simplify the planning process, the app allows users to easily discover and book attractions, accommodations, and manage their entire itinerary from one central platform. With personalized recommendations tailored to your interests and preferences, the app ensures a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. The Process
Our process started with researching the various challenges travelers face when planning vacations. We explored pain points such as coordinating itineraries, finding the best attractions, and managing logistics. Based on user insights, we created and refined several prototypes, ensuring the app offers a seamless, intuitive experience for planning vacations from start to finish.
The Problem
Planning a vacation can be overwhelming due to the need to coordinate travel, accommodations, activities, and attractions across multiple platforms. Many users find it difficult to compare options, manage schedules, and keep everything organized. This fragmentation makes vacation planning stressful, often resulting in missed opportunities or overpaying for services.
The Value
Our app simplifies vacation planning by providing a unified platform that integrates everything a traveler needs— from finding attractions to booking accommodations and managing the itinerary. It offers personalized recommendations based on user preferences and budget, ensuring a hassle-free planning experience that saves both time and money.
The Goal
We conducted user interviews with frequent travelers to understand their main challenges and desires when planning vacations. Their feedback pointed to the difficulty of finding reliable information about attractions, the lack of efficient itinerary management tools, and the stress of handling multiple bookings. This feedback shaped our design decisions and helped prioritize key features like attraction recommendations and trip synchronization.
User Research
We conducted in-depth user research by interviewing restaurant managers in Tel Aviv, one of the world’s major culinary hubs. Through these interviews, we gained valuable insights into their workflows and the challenges they face with existing tools, such as fragmented systems and the time-consuming process of managing multiple platforms. This research was essential in designing an app that addresses their specific needs, streamlining their daily tasks and improving overall efficiency.
Persona
I tested users ranging from frequent travelers who plan multiple trips each year, to occasional vacationers looking for stress-free planning, as well as families seeking kid-friendly destinations. Additionally, I interviewed travel agents and people who organize group trips. From this research, I developed two personas that represent the majority of our app's target users, covering a wide spectrum of travel needs and preferences.
Yael Cohen
34 year old marketing manager and mother of two, struggles to juggle family vacation planning with her busy life. She needs a simple, all-in-one app to find family friendly attractions, book accommodations, and organize itineraries in one place. A tool that saves time and reduces stress would allow her to plan memorable, well-organized trips for her family effortlessly.
Snir Levi
28 year old software engineer, enjoys spontaneous solo trips and exploring new destinations. With a busy work schedule, he prefers quick, easy planning and values recommendations for off-the-beaten-path attractions. He wants an app that can help him find unique experiences, book accommodations on the go, and manage his travel plans in a single place, making last-minute trips hassle-free.
Competitive Research
We analyzed existing travel and itinerary apps, finding that most apps either focus solely on booking accommodations or only offer limited attraction recommendations. Very few provide an all-in-one solution. Our app stands out by combining vacation discovery, attraction booking, and itinerary management in one seamless platform, offering personalized travel suggestions based on users' interests.
The Solution
Our app offers a complete vacation planning solution, allowing users to search for attractions, book accommodations, and build a personalized itinerary—all in one place. The app suggests experiences based on the user’s preferences, such as family-friendly activities or adventure options. With integrated tools to manage bookings and schedules, users can plan their entire vacation efficiently, with everything organized in a single app.
Look & Feel
The app is designed for end-to-end restaurant management, prioritizing clarity and ease of use in a high-pressure environment. Recognizing that restaurants are often chaotic, the interface is clean and organized, ensuring users can navigate effortlessly. A soothing color palette of blue, light blue, and white creates a calming atmosphere, helping to reduce stress for staff during busy shifts. Each feature is presented clearly, with intuitive icons and straightforward layouts, allowing users to quickly access essential functions without confusion, ultimately enhancing efficiency and productivity in their daily operations.
