Overview

An end-to-end restaurant management application. The app allows for shift scheduling, financial management, tracking trends and customer feedback, and generates insights to help you maximize the restaurant's success.

The Process

Our process began with understanding the complex needs of restaurant management through extensive research. We identified the core tasks that managers juggle daily, including scheduling, financial management, customer engagement, and trend analysis. Through iterative design, we developed and tested prototypes with potential users, refining the interface to ensure it meets the specific demands of the industry.

The Problem

Managing a restaurant is a demanding job that involves coordinating various aspects such as employee scheduling, financial oversight, and customer satisfaction. Many existing tools only address one or two of these areas, forcing managers to use multiple systems, which can be inefficient and prone to errors. The lack of a comprehensive solution makes it difficult for managers to optimize their operations and respond quickly to emerging trends.

It eliminates the need for multiple tools, thereby reducing the time and effort required to manage daily operations. The Goal

The goal of this project is to create a robust and intuitive application that enables restaurant managers to streamline their operations. By offering a comprehensive solution, our app aims to enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and ultimately increase the profitability of the restaurant.

User Research

We conducted in-depth user research by interviewing restaurant managers in Tel Aviv, one of the world’s major culinary hubs. Through these interviews, we gained valuable insights into their workflows and the challenges they face with existing tools, such as fragmented systems and the time-consuming process of managing multiple platforms. This research was essential in designing an app that addresses their specific needs, streamlining their daily tasks and improving overall efficiency.

Persona

I tested users ranging from restaurant owners who manage multiple locations, to managers handling daily operations, and staff responsible for scheduling and customer service. Additionally, I spoke with financial managers who oversee budgets and trends. From this research, I developed two personas that represent the majority of our app's target users, covering a broad spectrum of restaurant management needs.

Most apps either focus solely on one aspect, like financial tracking or scheduling, or lack the depth of features required to manage a restaurant comprehensively. Our app fills these gaps by offering an all-in-one solution that combines the best features of existing tools, along with additional functionalities like trend analysis and customer feedback integration.

The Solution

Our solution is a holistic restaurant management application that unifies all essential functions into a single platform. It offers seamless shift scheduling, detailed financial management, trend analysis, and customer feedback collection. The app also generates actionable insights that help managers make data-driven decisions, ultimately enhancing the restaurant’s performance and profitability.

Look & Feel

The app is designed for end-to-end restaurant management, prioritizing clarity and ease of use in a high-pressure environment. Recognizing that restaurants are often chaotic, the interface is clean and organized, ensuring users can navigate effortlessly. A soothing color palette of blue, light blue, and white creates a calming atmosphere, helping to reduce stress for staff during busy shifts. Each feature is presented clearly, with intuitive icons and straightforward layouts, allowing users to quickly access essential functions without confusion, ultimately enhancing efficiency and productivity in their daily operations.
